What you get, and where it stops

The generator is built for a quick one-off PDF in the shape plan managers usually ask for. Here is what it does, and what needs an Invio account.

What it does

  • Puts the participant's name and nine-digit NDIS number on the invoice, with an optional "c/o" line for the plan manager.
  • Gives every line its own date of service, support item number and unit (hour, km or each), beside the hours and rate.
  • Adds 10% GST if you switch it on, or none if you are not registered; if you are registered, you can mark lines GST-free yourself.
  • Prints your ABN, and the heading reads "Tax Invoice" only when you are GST registered and have entered one.
  • Shows short notes before you download if the participant number or a line date is missing. They never stop a download.

What it does not do

  • Does not submit claims, and does not check item numbers or prices against the NDIA Support Catalogue or the Pricing Schedule.
  • Does not decide whether a support is GST-free, or check the plan, the written agreement or the Determination for you.
  • Does not send or store your invoice on Invio servers, and does not keep the participant number in your browser.
  • Does not email the invoice to the plan manager or track when it is paid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this free NDIS invoice generator really free?
Yes. You can fill in as many invoices as you like and download each one as an A4 PDF, with no email gate, no watermark and no card. It runs in your browser, so you do not need an account.
What goes on an NDIS invoice?
Plan managers usually ask for the invoice to be in the participant's name, with their nine-digit NDIS number (no spaces), and one line per support with the date it was delivered and the support item number. Provider Choice asks for an individual date on each line rather than a date range (providerchoice.com.au, read 11 October 2026); Plan Partners asks for the date or spread of dates you delivered the service (planpartners.com.au, read 11 October 2026). This generator gives you a field for each of those, plus a "c/o" line for the plan manager. Each plan manager asks for slightly different things, so check with yours.
Where do I find the support item number?
Each support has a Support Item Number in the NDIA's support catalogue (ndis.gov.au). Copy it from the catalogue into the "Support item number" box on the line. The generator prints it exactly as you type it and does not check it against the catalogue, so a typo stays a typo.
Can I put travel and kilometres on the invoice?
Yes: add the travel as its own line and choose the unit (hour for travel time, km for kilometres). Which item number and rate apply to travel is set by the NDIA's rules, not by this tool. Our guide to travel and cancellations on NDIS invoices sets out what we read.
Are NDIS supports GST-free?
Sometimes. The ATO says a supply to a participant is GST-free if all four of its requirements are met, including a written agreement (ato.gov.au, read 11 October 2026). This tool never decides that for you. If you are not registered for GST, switch GST off and no GST is charged. If you are registered, switch GST on and tick "GST-free" on the lines you treat that way; one invoice can mix GST-free and taxable lines. Our guide to NDIS supports and GST has the detail. Is the participant’s NDIS number stored?
Not on our servers: nothing you type is sent anywhere. Your browser keeps your last draft (your business details, lines and logo) so a refresh does not lose it, until you press Clear form. The participant's NDIS number is the one thing it does not keep: it is personal information about a person, so it is left out of that saved draft and you re-enter it each visit.
Will a plan manager take an invoice made with this?
We cannot say. Each plan manager sets its own checks, and Invio does not decide what a plan manager requires of an invoice. The fields here follow what plan managers usually ask for, and the invoice is a plain PDF you can send like any other. If a plan manager sends it back, tell us what it wanted.
